LADIS

The National Alcohol and Drug Information System (LADIS) is a collection of national data on outpatient and inpatient addiction care. The addiction care sector benefits from policy evaluation, benchmarking and the identification of trends. This applies to both outpatient and to clinical addiction care. This includes addiction care rehabilitation.

LADIS' goal is the collection of data for the benefit of addiction care. Data collection is done at the national level. Addiction care facilities and addiction rehabilitation provide IVZ with a complete file annually. These files contain anonymised information about the client population and their treatment.

IVZ performs quality control and analyses. This creates a very complete picture of the demand for treatment in addiction care in the Netherlands. IVZ publishes regularly on developments concerning the provision of addiction treatment. IVZ also creates profiles of specific clients in addiction care. In this manner, LADIS is an important information source about drug use and the provision of drug treatment in the Netherlands. For policy makers, (inter)national researchers, media and institutions, it is the main source in this area.
